HVAC Replacement & HVAC Installation Services

Do You Need a New AC Installation?

A new air conditioning installation is quite a big investment, which is why so many people hesitate and make sure to use the right company when it comes time for HVAC replacement and new installation services.

However, sometimes it really makes financial sense to upgrade old technology. When you start studying escalating utility and repair bills it does eventually become more cost-effective to upgrade your cooling unit to one that is more energy-efficient thanks to advancing technology.

Excellent Customer Service and Follow Up

Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we commit to making sure that your new HVAC system is professionally installed and operating as marketed, which includes understanding how to use your new system and how to maintain it. We are always standing by to walk you through and answer any questions that you may have. At Ron’s Appliance Heating & Air we are committed to turning customers in life-long partners.

Signs that your HVAC Unit needs Replacement:

  • Difficulty Starting the Unit
  • Blowing Warm Air
  • Unit Leaking Water
  • Too Much Humidity, even when the AC System runs
  • The Compressor Attempts to Start but is Never Able to Engage

When to Replace Your HVAC Unit:

The Air Conditioning Unit was never Maintained and is Fairly Old

If your HVAC unit has not been getting seasonal tune-ups and has needed multiple repairs over the last few years, it’s probably time to upgrade to a new efficient cooling unit.

The age of the unit is a major factor. When HVAC Units are 10-15 years old, we always recommend that our technicians inspect and evaluate your system to see if it’s time to replace it.

Your Utility Bills Have Spiked

When air-conditioner units start struggling to cool your home as they get old and break down over time, they ultimately use more and more energy to get your home cool at all. A major cause for energy bills going up and up is the inefficiency of older units.

Your indoor Air Quality is Poor

Air Conditioning units usually build up dust, dirt, mold, and other pollutants that cause and worsen asthma and allergy symptoms, and even make your home smell funky. Regular tune-ups and an air purifier will sort out these problems, but it’s probably time to replace the HVAC unit if these issues can’t be sorted out anymore.

Ductless AC Systems / Mini Split Systems

Ductless AC’s work the same way that central air conditioning works – just without the ducts. Ductless AC units blow cold air directly into the room or area that it cools, and each area has its own unit.

In other words, these are separate units, also called Mini-Split AC’s because they’re installed in the rooms and areas that you want to cool, instead of blowing air from one central unit into a network of air ducts from where it gets dispersed into the home.

Ductless / Mini Split AC Benefits:

COMPLETE ZONE CONTROL – Ultimate Energy Efficiency

Realizes maximum control and energy efficiency by cooling and heating only those spaces in use. Save Energy and Money.

EASY INSTALLATION – Installs Quickly and Easily.

No need for major construction and remodeling,

PERSONAL COMFORT CONTROL – Maintain your Precise Desired Temperature

Smart-home devices offer complete comfort control of temperatures, fan speeds, and air direction in each room or zone.

CLEANER AIR WITH WASHABLE ANTI-ALLERGEN FILTERS – Experience Cleaner, Healthier Air.

Our filtration systems capture odors, allergens, bacteria, and other contaminants that impact air quality.

Ways to Hide a Mini Split

  • Build a Cabinet Around it
  • Build a Recessed Niche
  • Hide it in a built-in bookcase.
  • Recess it Into the Ceiling
  • Tuck it in a Corner

Are Ductless Ac Systems worth it?

Yes. You are likely to save about 30% of electricity by replacing central AC units with a ductless system. This is approximately how much cooling is typically lost in central air systems due to leaky, poorly insulated duct work. Many homeowners prefer ductless mini-split systems to zone their homes instead of installing a central HVAC system. Zoning also allows you to decide which areas of your home need more heating and cooling, so your bedroom can be 5 degrees cooler than the rest of your home even though they’re on the same system.

Exactly, how does my A/C system work?

An air conditioning system is actually designed with two separate units in which make a unique partnership to provide you the ultimate comfort throughout your home. On the outside of the home, the outdoor coil contains a liquid refrigerant that is distributed over the cool coil located indoors. As the refrigerant moves throughout the two coils, the heat and humidity are removed from the air and your comfort is maintained by cooling the house.

How do I know I am receiving the most efficient results from my system?

The efficiency of your heating and cooling system is determined by a ratio standard established by the EPA known as “SEER” or Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio. As governmental regulations states the “SEER” rating of an A/C system must meet a minimum standard of 14 SEER. For an air conditioning system to be considered “high efficiency” the “SEER” rating must be between 18 -21 “SEER.” At Ron’s Appliance, Heating & Air, Inc. we will design an A/C system perfect to your needs and financial budget.

What elements contribute to my home's comfort levels?

There are four factors that play a vital role in your overall comfort. If one has been compromised in any way, the results will be a loss in efficiency in your air conditioning and heating system.

  1. Temperature – To the consumer temperature is the beginning and the end of the discussion when comfort is the concern. However, in reality, the temperature is only the beginning.
  2. Clean & Fresh Air – A dusty home can drastically affect the efficiency of your system and your comfort. You can rely on us to suggest an air cleaner that will bring exceptional results especially for those who suffer from allergies and asthma.
  3. Humidity – During the winter months when the air is dry, static electricity and dry itchy skin are always an issue. If you add humidity then you remove the uncomfortable feelings of dry skin. In the summer months if the humidity is removed then the air is not sticky and the summers are more enjoyable.
  4. System Control – When talking to clients, we often hear the same complaint of inconsistent temperatures from room to room, A digital thermostat will distribute air evenly. At Ron’s Appliance, Heating & Air, Inc. we will recommend a thermostat designed for your needs.
What is an air to air heat pump?

Plainly stated, air to air heat pump has the capability of reversing its cycle to provide heating in the winter and cooling in the summer. This “switching” mechanism is designed to remove the natural heat from outdoors and bring it inside in the winter. Due to the fact that the air source is not actually creating heat, but moving it from one place to another, a heat pump can be an extremely cost-effective solution opposed to an electrically powered system which does generate heat.

What is the cause for a condensation leak problem?

The evaporator or cooling coil is located in the unit inside the home. As it creates condensation by removing moisture from the air, a drain pan will normally collect the water. However, if the drain line becomes clogged, then a leak occurs from the overflow. Some causes for a drain line to become clogged include algae build-up, crimped lines, settled wood platforms, snakes or other animals or just bad system maintenance.

How do I know when it is time to replace my system as opposed to just repairing it?

When your system begins to repeat its repairs or when there are major repairs, then it is more cost-effective to replace the system entirely. Upon consultation, our experts will recommend the most cost-effective solution to fit your needs. If replacement becomes the best long-term decision, you can always have the peace of mind that we will not only customize your new system but provide a variety of financing options to fit your budget.

How often should my filters be replaced?

Changing your filters is actually a personal need task. Depending on your frequency of use, whether you have smokers in the home, the time of year and many other factors, you should check your filters at least every 30 days. The “golden rule” is always the cleaner the better. Dirty filters not only affect the efficiency of your system but also your health.
